Delaware Releases Online Gambling Regulations

Last week state lottery officials in Delaware released regulations to govern legal online gambling within the state.
The regulations are open to public comment until the end of the month.
They detail how the state will license online gambling and requirements for player registration and money transactions.
As in New Jersey and Nevada, online gambling will only be allowed for those within state borders. However, there is the possibility of forming agreements with other states where online gambling is legal in order to increase the player pool.
The regulations state that all owners, company directors and key staff at online gambling vendors will have to undergo criminal background checks and only those who have no felony convictions in the last decade will receive gaming licenses.
Online gambling is due to launch on September 30th, but Lottery Director Vernon Kirk said that there won’t be a full selection of games available at the state’s three casino’s websites.
Kirk said, “We’ll be introducing game content throughout. At launch, it won’t be as robust in game content as we’ll introduce later on. All of these games are certified, for the most part, in Europe, but not in the U.S., so it’s taking some extra time.”
