MGM Resorts has been awarded an online poker license by the Nevada Gaming Commission (NGC) as have the casinos CAMS and Z4Poker.

MGM Resorts is one of the most respected casino operators in the state and is a far bigger operator than the other two companies to receive licenses.

However, there was some concern over MGM’s relationship with Bwin after the Co-CEO of Bwin was arrested and questioned.

Tony Alamo from the NGC said that Bwin is in a situation which has raised a lot of questions.

He said that the NGC has expressed a desire to discuss these issues with Bwin and get them resolved; however, he did make it clear that the NGC only had warm feelings towards MGM Resorts.

At some point BWin will have to go before the NGC, in the meantime MGM Resorts has said it is happy with its relationship with Bwin and said that they are looking “forward to them coming before this commission.” At the same time, while the NGC has not made any promises to Bwin, they have said that “Bwin will probably be approved.”

Nonetheless Commissioner Moran from the NGC said that “Bwin isn’t in front of us, and that’s a good thing. MGM in front of me is the gold standard—top company”.
