Reporter Investigates Illegal Online Casino Advertisements

Even though online gambling is illegal in Colorado, a reporter has found that advertisements for a gambling online casino are being displayed at the Pepsi Center and on television. Golden Palace is an online casinos gambling site where users can play everything from poker to slot machines. The online casino is licensed by an Indian tribe in Canada and headquartered in Antigua in the Caribbean.

The law in Colorado states that gambling at online casino sites is illegal and advertising it would likely violate consumer protection laws, according to a press release issued by the attorney general last year. The reporter showed the attorney general the gambling adverts and which were clearly displayed at some sporting events and said that the owners of the venues which displayed the adverts need to be contacted and informed that the online casino gambling site is illegal.

The attorney general said that although online casino gambling is very wide-spread in the state of Colorado, it is still against the law. Broadcasters were put on notice to be aware of the fact that publicizing adverts of illegal online casino gambling venues would cause them to violate the law. Often the companies which accept adverts from these companies are not aware that they are illegal and only once a solid advertisement and sponsorship deal has been signed are they made aware. The attorney general said that he would like to try and make the broader business public aware of this illegality in order to prevent further occurrences.
