Online Casino UK Gambling Law
It seems that the UK gambling law and land-based and online casino regulations are always in the news of late. According to a research consultancy XTN Data, only 20% of people think that the UK Government is doing enough to regulate online casino gambling. This news comes right before the introduction of the Gambling Act next year which will finally allow online casinos to be based in the UK.
Greig Harper, founder of XTN Data noted, ‘As online gambling becomes more mainstream gaming operators need to do everything they can to attract new users including teaching them basic strategies for games.’ The research went on to discover that people planned to use the Internet to gamble more, over 50% didn’t know how to play most online casino games, and they reported that most online casino sites were not helping.
The survey questioned 1,000 people, of which 35% said that they would rather play at an online casino stationed in the UK rather than overseas because they would trust the UK-based gambling sites more. The Gambling Act being implemented also places responsibilities on online casino sites to ensure they’re not being access by under 18’s. It seems that the UK Government is doing it utmost to protect online casino gamblers and help promote responsible gaming. This is very important if online casino sites are going to be available within UK borders as well as regulated.
