An off duty policeman allegedly hit a fellow patron at Jupiter’s Casino over the weekend.

However, the Ethical Standards Command is looking into the mater. A third casino visitor said she saw a man hit another in the head on the dance floor, “It happened so fast and everyone was just shocked”.

The witness said that the man fell to the ground unconscious and casino staff moved in to block the view while paramedics saw to him.

She said that the man who “threw the punch told security the man threatened him and showed his police badge … security asked him to stay and guarded him until police came.”

Acting Chief Superintendent Des Lacy said, “ The Ethical Standards Command is looking into the incident involving an off-duty officer and a man, who was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital, but that is all I can say at this stage.”
