X Factor 2014 Early Favourites Emerge
The new series of X Factor has just begun and even at this early stage there are strong favourites emerging despite controversy over not all the singers being amateurs.
Ex-navy man Jay James Picton impressed the judges with his performance and quickly became the bookies’ favourite to win with odds of around 6/1. However, in the days following his auditions it emerged that Picton has already released a debut album on Universal Music Group’s Decca label and is not the amateur he claimed to be.
Nonetheless, there is nothing in the X Factor rules that prevents Picton from taking part, so for the time being he is likely to remain as favourite.
However, Picton will face competition from second favourite Chloe Jasmine. Jasmine has actually auditioned for the X Factor before back in 2006 but had no success. Now she has returned, clearly after some singing lessons, and gave an impressive performance of Black Coffee by Sonny Burke.
However, it is early days in the competition and the line-up of the live shows has not yet been confirmed so everything could still change.
