Bookies Slash Odds on Royal Engagement This Year

Bookies have drastically cut the odds on Prince Harry becoming engaged to Meghan Markle in the near future.

William Hill has cut the odds on an engagement announcement coming before the birth of William and Kate’s third child to 4/6 from evens. A spokesman for the bookmaker said that they think proposal is “just around the corner” and even suggested that it could have already happened. Now there are odds of 1/4 that they will become engaged this year and 4/6 on the wedding taking place next year.

There are also odds of 16/1 that they could get married this year and 5/4 that a wedding would take place in 2019. However, it is speculated that Megan Markle would have to give up her acting career if she does marry Harry and this could cause the engagement to be delayed.
