Those interested in casino memorabilia will be interested to hear that the new owners of the Trump Taj Mahal are set to make way for major renovations with a liquidation sale that includes all of the casino’s remaining assets.

The sale is open to everyone and includes everything from inside the casino, from furniture and gaming equipment to the building’s fittings. Once all the assets have been removed, the new owners, Hard Rock, can start transforming the venue in time for its 2018 reopening.

The Trump Taj Mahal opened in Atlantic City in 1990 and initially was highly successful. However, recent years saw the casino face financial difficulties and following two bankruptcy rulings and a bailout it closed its doors last year.

The venue will be reopening as the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino next year. Jim Allen, who was part of the Trump team at one stage, is directing the new casino. He has already stated that he wants to empty the building and start from scratch to create a fresh brand. His plans include poolside and restaurant gaming services as well as a boardwalk to access the casino.

As a result, everything inside the building is going up for sale and it is a great opportunity to pick up a piece of gambling history and some good deals. The sale has just opened and it will continue until everything is gone. Items up for grabs include furniture, gaming tables, card sets and branded chips as well as chandeliers and other architectural features. There are also grand pianos, sculptures and paintings as part of the sale.
