Betting On The Eurovision Song Contest 2017
With the Eurovision Song Contest taking place this weekend fans across the continent, and the rest of the world, will be backing their favourites as winners.
The clear favourite at the bookmakers is Francesco Gabbani for Italy who is priced as low as 1/1 at William Hill and Bet365. He will be performing Occidental Karma in which he dances alongside an ape. The song was a viral hit in Italy and has already collected over 50 million YouTube views.
Someway behind is second favourite Portugal with Salvador Sobral priced at 7/4. Sobral has already made a name for himself in the Portuguese and Spanish music scenes. He will be performing Dois (For The Both of Us) which was written by his singer songwriter sister Luisa Sobral.
From this point on the odds are less clear. Sweden has odds ranging from 10/1 all the way up to 18/1. Robin Bengtsson, a former motocross rider, will be performing I Can’t Go On. He rose to fame when he entered Swedish Idol in 2007 and has a huge following in Sweden.
Armenia is also doing quite well at the bookies with odds ranging from 12/1 up to 20/1. Artsvik will be performing a song called Fly With Me written by Lillith Navasardyan who composed Armenia’s song for Junior Eurovision 2015.
As usual the United Kingdom is far down in the pecking order with odds as long as 33/1 at some bookmakers. The UK’s entry is Lucie Jones who found fame on the X Factor. She will be singing Never Give Up On You which was co-written by Emmelie de Forest who won Eurovision 2013 for Denmark.
