Betting Heats Up on the Next James Bond

James Norton has become the favourite to succeed Daniel Craig as the actor who plays James Bond.

Late last week Ladbrokes suspended betting on the War and Peace actor after an “unprecedented” number of bets were placed on him. However, they soon reopened betting but had reduced the odds to just 4/7. Prior to the suspension the odds were at 20/1 so the bookmaker “decided to take a breather whilst the market settled down”.

Last month it was thought that Aidan Turner was the favourite after a spike in interest but the actor recently confirmed that he will be staring in a third series of Poldark for the BBC. Since then the odds on him have lengthened to 2/1. Another favourite is Tom Hiddleston but some are saying that his relationship with Taylor Swift has made him unsuitable for the role.
