Bookies Shorten Odds on Britain Voting for Brexit
The chances that Britain will vote to leave the European Union rose on Monday to 36% according to the betting odds and with the vote now less than two weeks away people are increasingly looking at the betting odds as a way of predicting the outcome.
The betting odds changed after an opinion poll by ORG showed that the “Out” camp was 10 points ahead of the “In”. As a result William Hill reduced its odds to 7/4, the lowest yet offered on Britain leaving the EU. However, the odds on an “In” vote are still far shorter at 4/9.
Meanwhile one punter has placed a £20,000 bet on Britain to leave the EU with Ladbrokes while another placed an even larger bet of £60,000. The bookmaker has reported that around 60% of all bets in recent weeks have been for “Out”.
