Woman Denied $8 Million Jackpot after Slot Machine Error

Veronica Castillo, from Portland, Oregon, was playing on the slot machines at the Lucky Eagle Casino in Rochester, Washington last weekend when she hit an $8 million jackpot. However, while the machine pronounced her a winner all she received was $80 after staff at the casino said that the payout was an error.

The machines in the casino have stickers on them saying that a malfunction of the machine voids all pays and plays. However, Ms. Castillo says that she believes it to be cheating and possibly even fraudulent.

The Casino’s CEO John Setterstrom said that nothing like this has happened in the casino’s history and he will be looking into the matter further. Furthermore, the manufacturer of the game is conducting an investigation to determine if it was a malfunction. In the meantime the casino has offered Castillo a free weekend stay in one of the hotel’s suites.
