Ladbrokes to Payout £2 Million Following General Election

Bookmakers in the UK are facing a number of large payouts after last week’s shock election results. However, one particular punter, a man described as a ‘well groomed’ pensioner has probably come off best after he bet £30,000 with odds of 7/1 at Ladbrokes on a Conservative majority.
The man is in-line to receive £240,000 but his identity is not known and he has not yet come forward to claim his winnings. In total Ladbrokes is facing a total payout of £2 million to Conservative majority backers
Betfred also reported a record breaking election in terms of bets as did Paddy Power who’s biggest win was a customer that received £25,000 after betting that David Cameron would continue as Prime Minister. A spokesman for Coral also described the election as “one of the biggest betting upsets in history”.
