William Hill Suspends Glastonbury Betting on The Stone Roses
There is always great excitement over the Glastonbury music festival and in particular over the headline act. However, William Hill has now suspended betting on The Stone Roses taking the spot after a huge amount of bets were placed in one day.
The betting resulted in the band’s odds falling from 12/1 to even money in less than 24 hours. Blur is just behind at 2/1 ahead of Prince at 9/2 and Kate Bush at 5/1. Other possibilities for the headline spot are Coldplay at 8/1, Depeche Mode at 12/1, Fleetwood Mac at 12/1, AC/DC at 12/1 and BAR at 16/1.
However, industry insiders have said that there is no basis for the rumours surrounding the Roses. Already confirmed to perform at the festival are Florence and The Machine, Mary J Blige, Pharrell Williams, Alt-J, Motorhead and Lionel Richie.
