General Election Betting Hints at Tory Victory
The UK General Elections are fast approaching and punters are busy betting on who they think will end up with the most seats.
According to Paddy Power, the Tories are in with a 70% chance of winning the most seats, up from 40% in December 2013. Labour on the other hand has fallen from a high of 65% to a low of a 30% chance of being the largest party. The bookmaker has said that a quarter of the bets are for a Tory majority while second favourite is a Tory-Lib Dem coalition.
However, a spokesperson for Paddy Power has said that it looks too close to call at the moment regardless of the fact that the Tories look set to gain the most seats. All in all bookmakers are expecting around £100 million to be bet on the election, three times more than in 2010.
