New Jersey Casino Betfair Going Strong After Axing Online Poker Room
Operations ended abruptly in New Jersey for the Betfair Poker room when revenues dipped significantly in the 3rd quarter of 2014. According to the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement, tax returns filed by the operator showed only a $1 rake taken in for all of September and $0 in revenue for October.
While online poker operation ground to a halt for Betfair, their online casino is growing by leaps and bounds, expecting to push $7.5 million in revenue by the end of 2014. The brand operates under their Trump Plaza gaming license, temporarily partnering with Caesars interactive in the third quarter of this year.
Betfair is a licenced operator providing sports, casino, poker, bingo and live gaming entertainment. The UK-based company has been in operation since 2000 when it pioneered the Betting Exchange, which allowed punters to wager against one another and lay prices they determined themselves.
