Strictly Come Dancing 2014 Begins With Pixie Lott as Early Favourite
Over the weekend the much anticipated new series of Strictly Come Dancing began and already some favourites are emerging.
The episode opened with TV presenter Caroline Flack and closed with singer Pixie Lott performing excellent routines. However, many were surprised by the skill which Jake Wood of EastEnders displayed during his routine.
These three routines will have come as a huge relief to the show’s producers as they struggled to attract well-known names to this series. Nonetheless, if the quality remains this high then, given the popularity of the show, in just a few weeks they’ll all become household names.
At present Pixie Lott is the bookies’ favourite to win with odds of 7/2. Surprisingly, given the quality of their routines neither Flack nor Wood are very high up in the betting odds. Flack is fifth favourite with odds of 5/1 while Wood is seventh favourite with odds of 10/1. At present the bookies have Thom Evans as second most likely to win also with odds of 7/2 followed by Frankie Bridge with odds of 4/1 and Simon Webbe with odds of 5/1. Gregg Wallace is currently favourite for first elimination with odds of 2/1.
