Chatting No Longer Limited to English Only on Microgaming Poker Network
To date, the Microgaming Poker Network only allowed their players to chat in English while playing at their sites.
This rule has now been changed, making Microgaming the first poker network to make this change.Until now, the ‘English only’ rule has been used as a means to prevent cheating and collusion but it is clear that Microgaming no longer has these concerns.
Alex Scott, the head of the MPN network, announced this rule change on the company’s blog stating, “As of now, whatever language you speak, whether it be English, Georgian, Latin or High Valyrian, you are welcome on the MPN. We will still police grossly offensive or disruptive chat, regardless of the language, but if you just want to chat with your friends, you can speak (or type) any language you want.”
Scott made it clear that while chatting in foreign languages was viewed in the past as a way to cheat, it is highly unlikely that fraudsters would use a chat box to discuss illegal activities.
In fact, according to Scott, to date they have never had any incidents were players used the chat box as part of their scheme.
The Poker Network of Microgaming is available in 22 languages and the sites offer players a variety of exciting games including Bad Beat Jackpot, Blaze Poker and Anonymous Tables as well as over 100 casino site table, slot and instant games.
