Online Roulette Tutorial – A Basic Guide

There are two common forms of roulette, European Roulette, which has 37 numbered pockets, and American Roulette which has 38 due to the addition of a ‘00’ pocket. Both games have exactly the same rules.

The game is played by spinning the wheel which has a small ball in it. The ball will come to rest in one of the numbered pockets.

In order to place a bet, players simply need to place their chips on the betting area on the number that they think the ball will come to rest upon.

It is possible to place a ‘split’ bet, this is when the chip is placed over two or four numbers in the betting area. It is also possible to bet on specific colored numbers (red or black), odd numbers, even numbers and more by placing chips in the correct place on the betting area. There are several more options such as doubling your bets (most online games will have a button for this) or clearing all bets.

Once bets have been placed all that is required is to spin the wheel and see where the ball lands.
