Schumacher Consciousness Rumours Are False

Earlier this week reports were flying around the internet claiming that Michael Schumacher had awoken from his coma and recognized his wife. Unfortunately these reports turned out to be false.

The rumors appear to have originated via the Spanish version of RT and very quickly the internet was abuzz. However, journalist Nicola Pohl soon took to Twitter with the truth. She Tweeted, “Schumacher awake? Sorry, but those Rumors from Spain apparently not true. Kehm just texted me she hadn’t confirmed anything to RTL.”

Only information that comes directly from Schumacher’s manager Sabine Kehm should be believed. The latest news from Kehm was a few weeks ago when she said, “There are short moments of consciousness and he is showing small signs of progress.”

In good news for Schumacher fans Kehm’s statement continued: “There are moments when he is awake and moments when he is conscious, which make us happy and give us great courage. Of course I am not a doctor, but medically, there is a distinction between being awake and being conscious, the latter meaning there is an ability to interact with his surroundings. I don’t want to disclose details out of respect for the family, but we have no doubt at all in the abilities of the doctors treating Michael, they are experts in their field.”
