Palm Beach’s New Floating Casino Makes Maiden Voyage
It seems that Hollywood stars also want a piece of the casino action. This week the Island Breeze II casino ship owned by Rob Lowe, Eddi Griffin and Josh Duhamel made its debut from the Port of Palm Beach to the three-mile international zone. The 160-foot ship which recently underwent a $3 million overhaul and was renamed from the Black Diamond to Island Breeze II, set sail with gamblers onboard this week. A key attraction is the Jamie Gold Poker Room.
Jamie Gold, the 2006 World Series of Poker (WSOP) winner is the full time host of the poker room and patrons can challenge Jamie to a game of poker for as little as a $200 buy-in.
The Island Breeze II will sail twice a day for lunch and dinner.
The ship has capacity for 600 people and boasts 200 slot machines, and various table games including craps, black-jack and roulette. Another first is the onboard sports book that no other casino on the Florida mainland offers.
For those who enjoy a party, they can visit the Island Breeze Ultra Lounge for cocktails and fine champagne or can simply relax on the deck and enjoy the views of the open sea.
