Chris Moneymaker Appointed Ambassador for Hollywood Poker Open
Season 2 of the Hollywood Poker Open has begun and completed its first stop at the Hollywood Casino Lawrenceburg. There are a number of more stops between now and May with a ten-day poker festival taking place at each stop.
The series culminates in the $500,000 guaranteed HPO Championship Event at the M Resort Las Vegas in June this year. Before the series reaches Vegas there are stops in Tunica, at the Penn National Race Course, at the Hollywood Casino St. Louis, Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races and Hollywood Casino Columbus.
This season Chris Moneymaker, the winner of the 2003 WSOP Main Event, is serving as an ambassador for the series and will be competing in various regional and local qualifying tournaments giving fans the chance to not only meet the man, but also play against him.
As well as the Regional Tournament series, HPO properties are running promotions to give players the chance to win a seat in the Championship Event in Vegas. It is possible to qualify through Sunday Tournaments and Free Roll Tournaments from now until May.
Last year’s series was won by Spain’s Ana Marquez who beat a 631-player field to take home a prize of $320,189.
