IGT Publishes First Social Casino Index

International Game Technology (IGT) together with DoubleDown Casino have announced the release of the first-ever Social Casino Index. The index is based upon over six million people who play DoubleDown Casino games on Facebook.
The index showed that the majority of social casino players in the US are women aged 45 – 55 and that women play 30% more virtual chips than men per gaming session. Generally women were willing to gamble up to 10 million virtual chips per session but men didn’t gamble more than 7.6 million. The Vice President of Global Marketing at IGT, John Clelland, said, “As the world’s largest virtual social casino, we are always seeking to better understand our players and their preferences.
The Social Casino Index gives the gaming industry a truly detailed look at social casino player preferences for the first time. It’s also fascinating to look into the similarities and differences in our players from coast to coast.”
The five states with the most social gamblers were North Dakota, Washington, Oregon, Nevada and Wyoming. However, the luckiest players were from the West Costs, they won over 1.7 billion virtual chips while those on the East Coast won just 790 million virtual chips.
