PokerStars Releases WCOOP 2013 Schedule
PokerStars has released a schedule for the 2013 WCOOP (World Championship of Online Poker). The highlight of the online poker calendar will be taking place from Sunday September 8th to Sunday September 29th and include 65 events.
The biggest change to the schedule from last year is that the entry fee to the main event has been significantly raised, instead of the usual $5,200 it is now $10,300. This immediately provoked a lot of protests and worry from players in the poker community and eventually PokerStars agreed to change it back to $5,200. The tournament has guaranteed $1.5 million to first place.
The cheapest event is number 18, it is a $109 no-limit Hold’em event that begins at 4pm BST on September 14th. The highest buy in is the $25,000 High Roller no-limit hold’em event on September 15th.
Every type of poker game offered by PokerStars is covered in the series and there will even be a few re-entry tournaments, something which is not yet standardly available on PokerStars.
The best news is that Satellites for the events will be running throughout August so players have the chance to win a place in the more expensive events.
