Britain’s Royal Family Awaiting a Royal Birth
As Prince Charles and Camilla started their annual summer tour of Devon and Cornwall, Camilla revealed that the royal family is hoping that William and Kate’s baby is born by “the end of the week.”
The royal family has remained vague on the due date and only said that the baby is due in mid-July.
Camilla said, “We don’t know what’s going to happen. We’re all waiting at the end of a telephone. I hope by the end of the week he or she will be there.”
At the moment the favourite date with the bookies is July 18th with odds of 3/1 available, the 19th and 20th are the next favourite with odds of 4/1 and 5/1 respectively. After that the odds increase exponentially towards the end of the month.
There is currently a team of photographers and TV crews from across the world camping outside of St Mary’s Hospital in London waiting for the birth of the child.
It is also possible to bet on the name and sex of the baby. Bookmakers expect a girl and have made Alexandra the favourite name, followed by Charlotte, Diana and Elizabeth. If it is a boy then George and James are the favourite names.
