Two Bracelet Winners at Day 33 of WSOP

Day 33 of the 2013 World Series of Poker saw two new bracelet winners. Steve Sung won Event 52: $25,000 No-Limit Hold’em (Six Handed) and Kristen Bicknell won Event 51: $10,000 Ladies No-Limit Hold’em Championship.
Bicknell had to overcome a field of 954 players to win her first gold bracelet and $173,922 in prize money. In the end she faced Leanne Haas heads-up and while they only played 7 hands it took almost 40 minutes. In the final hand both players flopped top pair, but Bicknell had the better hand.
Bicknell’s win brings Canada’s bracelet tally to 10 this year (or 11 if including Daniel Negreanu’s win at the WSOP Asia Pacific Main Event). Before this year Canadians had only ever won 34 bracelets in the history of the WSOP.
Steve Sung faced a field of 175 players in the : $25,000 No-Limit Hold’em (Six Handed) event and it took three days of play for him to win the event. In the end Sung faced one of the best players in the world, Phil Galfond, heads-up, but he managed to hold his nerve to win his second bracelet and a massive $1,205,324.
