Latest News from the WSOP
As always it’s an exciting time at the WSOP in Las Vegas. Norbert Szecsi has won the $1,000 No Limit Hold’em Event and the $3,000 No Limit Hold’em event is down to its final 95 players with Michael Rocco in front.
Szecsi beat Denis Gnidash heads-up in a rapid final table to claim his gold bracelet and $345,037 prize money.
Other players to cash include Chirs DeMaci, Kirby Martin, Rory Mathews, Bryce Landier, Ariel Celestino, Dana Buck and Jonathan Bennett.
The 1,072 player field in the $3,000 No Limit Hold’em event is now down to 95 players and Michael Rocco is leading with 340,000 chips. Along with Rocco at the front are Ognjen Sekularac (180,000), Ryan Welch (128,400), Ian Simpson (127,000) and Dan Kelly (122,300).
Meanwhile the unique $1,500 Ante Only No Limit Hold’em event has begun. There are currently just over 200 players left in it and the eventual winner will take home $201,399. The tournament has a rule that requires all players to post an ante on every hand which Andy Philachack said was “different but it’s fun.”
