In last week’s massive Powerball draw, while only one player hit the jackpot, there were a few lucky enough to win $1 million.

While only one person hit the jackpot, there were a few Powerball players lucky enough to win $1 million
Christopher Henson from St. Louis bought three tickets and on one of them he matched all five white ball numbers. Henson said that he isn’t a regular player, “Usually, when it’s the big numbers.”
According to Henson he didn’t realise he was a winner until reading the news the day after the draw, despite watching it live. The news said that a winning ticket had been bought at Telegraph Liqueurs where Henson had bought his ticket.
After phoning the shop Henson realised that he was a winner, describing it as “jaw-dropping.” He intends to use the money to pay for his upcoming wedding and to fund college accounts for his children.
An Asheville couple were also lucky enough to win $1 million. Ron and Regina Phelps, both of whom are nurses, matched the five white balls to win. The couple have already met with a financial planner and after taxes they received a cheque for $680,000. Regina said that “It means we can actually think about retirement in a more positive way.”
