Caesars Online Poker May Launch this Week
While there has been no official announcement yet, there are rumours that Caesars online poker may launch as early as this week.
Caesars executives have avoided giving a specific launch date but posts on various forums have suggested that the service may launch on May 22nd.
People have said that their total Rewards host, the Caesars loyalty program, will be online in the next few days.
If the rumours turn out to be true it would make Caesars the second company to launch online in Nevada, after Ultimate Poker which went live earlier this month. There were a few difficulties in the first few weeks of operations for Ultimate Poker, players reported difficulties opening accounts and accessing games.
It will be interesting to see how many online poker rooms can survive in Nevada, there are around a dozen license holders hoping to launch but the state has a relatively small population which suggests that it will be a tough market to survive in.
Caesars online poker will be powered by 888 Poker. However, there are reports that Caesars has nearly completed developing its own online poker platform. As Caesars is hoping to operate in multiple states it makes sense for it to have more control over its platform.
