New Jersey Resident Wins Mega Millions Jackpot
Lottery player Tom Schweers believes that he could have won a Mega Millions lottery worth $95 million if had not been focused on buying a Powerball ticket from the Lukoil Mart on Shrewsbury Avenue in New Jersey.
Schweers said, “Sure enough, I forgot to buy the Mega Millions. That is what I buy when I usually stop in here. I’m quite certain that was my ticket, my destiny waiting for me.” In his place another store regular bought the winning Mega Millions ticket and will be splitting the estimated $190 million jackpot with another winning ticket holder from Virginia.
The store clerk, Lokendra Khatin Chhetri said of the winner, “I know he’s happy. I play every day, but I never win.”
The owner of the Mart, Narinder Sangari, said that the winner is a loyal customer. While he didn’t provide the winner’s name, he said that the customer had already been to confirm the winning numbers. The store will receive part of the $30,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
There were three further tickets sold in New Jersey which matched five Mega Millions numbers and each ticket holder will receive $250,000. Six tickets sold in the state matched four numbers and the Mega Ball making them worth $10,000 each.
