Ultimate Poker Reaches Million Hand Mark
Ultimate Poker, Las Vegas’ first legal online poker website has already dealt over a million poker hands in the weeks it has been running. The speed with which it has reached this number is a sign of the massive demand and the huge potential of the internet gaming industry in America.
The Chairman of Ultimate Poker, Tom Breitling, said “We’re coming out of a lost decade. We are finally brining jobs and taxes back to America.”
Over the last decade poker has seen a huge surge in popularity with viewers watching television coverage and masses of players going to online site, legal or illegal, to play from the comfort of their own homes.
While Ultimate Poker was the first site, it is expected that there could be at least half-a-dozen more by the end of the year.
Breitling says, “My guess is that about 10 states will come online over the next two years. Everyone knows there is a pent-up demand. Everyone knows this is a real business waiting to happen. It’s just a matter of the state’s legalizing what is a new environment of trust.”
While Ultimate Poker is just a start, it definitely seems that it won’t be long before legal online poker is widespread across the United States.
