WSOP Close to Launching Online Poker

The World Series of Poker is getting closer to launching real-money online poker at WSOP.com WSOP has announced that it is hoping to launch during the 44th WSOP series which begins on May 29th.
The plan is to launch before the Main Event which starts on July 6 so that players have a chance to win entries through online satellite tournaments. However, WSOP spokesperson, Seth Palansky, said “we don’t remain totally in control of the process and timing of it all, so it’s hard to know.”
According to the Executive Director of the WSOP, Ty Stewart, the site is awaiting approval from the Nevada Gaming Control Board.
However, they are prepared to be patient, as Palansky said, “we intend to be in this business 100 years from now so for us, it’s not about when we start.
We just have a lot of boxes to check off to meet the requirements, which is fine and it won’t be too much longer.”
Furthermore, Stewart has promised “a comprehensive series of promotions and benefits” on the new website for players who compete in live events this summer.
