Melbourne Man Wins $30 Million Jackpot
A man from Melbourne has become $30 million richer after he won the entire division one Tattslotto jackpot earlier this week.
The winner, who describes himself as a “rouseabout” and works in Melbourne, was told of his win when Tatts officials phoned him. Upon hearing the news his response was “You’ve got to be kidding me.”
The winner went on to say that he’s “been playing for a very, very, very long time. I thought your call might have been about winning $30,000 and that would have been terrific for my mortgage. But $30 million … I’m not sure what I’ll do with it yet. My mortgage will be eliminated … no, obliterated!”
Despite the massive win he said that he will not be quitting his day job, “I might resign but not immediately. We’re up against it at the moment so I wouldn’t want to leave them in the lurch at work.”
The winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, said that he wants to use the money to do more travelling. He won the jackpot after playing an 18-game QuickPick entry purchased online from Tatts.com.
