Nevada Casinos Progress Towards Online Operations

Last year Nevada legalised online poker and since then a number of land casino companies have expressed interest in running an online poker operation.

Some casinos have developed their own software while others have formed partnerships with existing online gambling operators.

Already a number of land casinos have been granted an online license and there are many more waiting for hearings next year.

Guaghan Straight Holdings, which runs the South Point Hotel and Casino, was the first to be granted a license.

It has developed its own software but the launch has been delayed due to Nevada regulators’ extreme caution.

At present the technology is being tested and no date has been given for a launch.

Caesars Entertainment Corp. operates many casinos within Las Vegas. It has already received a license and is planning a partnership with 888 to become a dominating force in the online poker world.

Station Casinos LLC is another operator of many gaming properties. Its parent company, Fertitta Entertainment, has put together the platform needed to run online poker. One of the firm’s subsidiaries has been granted a license but there is no official launch date planned.

These are just a few of many casino operators hoping to launch online poker. At the present rate it seems fair to expect a launch sometime next year.
