Nintendo Wii U Launches to Positive Reviews
The Wii U has launched and the initial reviews have been overall positive if a little cautious suggesting that the console will sell well.
It seems that the console has excellent possibilities. The presence of a second screen will allow players to access information at a glance which they would usually have to pause for, such as a map or a list of possible moves.
The GamePad also seems as if it will keep players engaged in the controller even while they aren’t playing. However, the voice chat is poor as players can’t plug microphones into the Pro Controller; they have to plug it into the GamePad even when it is not in use.
Another problem is that the GamePad has a short battery life and there does seem to be some problems with synching the music between the TV and the GamePad.
It definitely feels as if the console’s full potential has not yet been realised. However, this is likely to be rectified as new games are released which make use of all its features.
Overall it seems that Nintendo has taken their bestselling system, improved the graphics, incorporated the latest tablet technology and produced an extremely well designed package.
