Black Ops II Release Day Finally Arrives
After months and months of anticipation, Treyarch and Activision have finally released Call of Duty: Black Ops II as they announced they would back in May.
The series of games has been extremely successful ever since the first in the series was released 9 years ago.
When last year’s instalment was released, Modern Warfare 3, over $400 million was made in sales on the first day it was available, around 6.5 million copies were sold in the UK and USA.
The first Black Ops games made $360 million in sales and Modern Warfare 2 made an impressive $310 million.
These figures show that the games are continuing to grow in popularity and it can be expected that this latest release will see well over $400 million of sales made in the first day its available.
Fans have been lining up at retailers for hours before the game’s midnight release and a poll was conducted by IGN which found that 26% of gamers were planning on skipping work and school the next day in order to play the new game.
Clearly people’s sense of duty is dulled by the immense excitement caused by a new Call of Duty release.
