50 Shades of Grey Inspires the Betting Market
The internet is buzzing with talk about the Fifty Shades of Grey film adaptation and bookies are busy opening betting markets.
There is loads of speculation about who the director will be, Paddy Power’s favourite is Chris Weitz at 6/1, and the least favourite is Quentin Tarantino at 40/1.
Of course the actors in the lead roles are also stirring up a lot of interest.
At Paddy Power they reckon the favourite to play Christian Grey is Ryan Gosling at 5/2, other possibilities are Henry Cavill (11/4), Matt Borner (4/1) and Daniel Day Lewis (200/1).
However, the market which is generating the most interest is who will play Ana Steele; Paddy Power has Alexis Biedel at 7/2, Emma Watson and Katie Cassidy at 6/1 and Alexandra Daddario at 7/1.
Second favourite is Mila Kunis at 5/1, however, over the weekend it was reported that sources close to the actress said that while she found the role “interesting”, it was simply “not true” that she is in talks about taking it.
This comes after numerous reports last week saying she was considered frontrunner after being named Esquire magazine 2012’s “World’s Sexiest Woman”.
Either way, Kelly Marcel is busy writing the screenplay and the film project is finally moving along.
