Will Psy’s Video Be the Most Liked Ever?
Gangnam Style is continuing to take the world by storm and Ladbrokes is offering odds of 7/1 that it will become the most watched YouTube video of all time.
It has been three months since Psy’s song was released on YouTube and has already entered the Guinness Book of Records as the most ‘liked’ video ever on YouTube with over 3.8 million ‘likes’.
Back in Korea, the dance is featuring in many weddings and other celebratory events.
According to Derrick Tan, the owner of videography and photography company The Qing Dynasty, in the last three months he has covered six weddings which used Gangnam moves in the morning gatecrashing session.
The rite sees the groom carrying out dares before being able to claim the bride.
The Korea Tourism Organisation has also got on board and is using the song to promote the country and its culture. They are running a competition online where entrants are required to submit their own “I am Korea Style” themed video.
The website is also carrying a suggested itinerary for touring the Gangnam area in Seoul.
Adeline Goh, the senior marketing manager of the Korea Toursim Organisation’s Singapore office said that the video has “shown a light-hearted side of Korea”.
