Nintendo Wii U Deluxe Sells Out
It seems that Nintendo have a hit on its hands with the Wii U. Last Thursday shops began to take pre-orders and by Friday afternoon a number of them had already sold out of the deluxe edition which sells for $349.99.
The first retailer to run out was GameStop, while they do have some of the basic set left (selling for $299.99) they are also going fast.
Other major shops, such as Best Buy, Toys R Us, Target and Sears, are sold out of both models.
While selling out at this stage is a good sign, it is hard to tell if in the long run the console will be successful.
It is possible that Nintendo are limiting stock in order to create hype, by selling out in just a few days it certainly makes it seem like the console is a must have.
It is also not known if the pre-orders are coming from Nintendo fans or just casual gamers.
However, the difference between the deluxe and basic package is fairly small, it’s just a matter of increased storage and a free game, so if you’d like one, definitely try and get your order in soon
