13 is the Lucky Number for Madden Football

EA Sports has hit the American football jackpot with the 13th release of Madden football. Even if you’re not a fan of the game, you will enjoy watching video clips of the action.

Even if you’re not a fan of the game, you will enjoy watching video clips of the action.

The most noticeable difference is in the physics of the game. Madden Football 13 is powered by the Infinity Engine. The number one goal of the game is to take you on the field and present football as if you’re really there. We’ve graduated from “God view” to “on the field view”.

Instead of seeing the same animated tackle clips again and again, you’ll see a huge variety of play ending action sequences that keep things interesting. It looks as if they took World of Warcraft’s random event engine and converted it for football. Each player has his own likely actions and mistakes, but you never know what to expect. Sometimes even a short kicker can surprise you and outrun a defensive back.

The announcers’ booth has undergone a terrific upgrade. The dialogue is accurate and often funny. Jim Nantz and Phil Simms do a great job at reporting and it adds an immersive effect to the game.

Best of all, you can create your own player from scratch. This feature is called Connected Careers. You never know what kind of quarterback you’re gonna end up with when you play with their stats.

Madden 13 is the best version of the game and it does justice to the brand. We miss John Madden.
He was our favourite sports broadcaster of all time. What a personality! We leave you with our favorite Madden quotes.

“Hey, the offensive linemen are the biggest guys on the field, they’re bigger than everybody else, and that’s what makes them the biggest guys on the field.”
“Usually the team with the most points wins the game!”
“Here’s a guy who when he runs, he moves faster.”
“There definitely needs to be water on the sidelines for these players, but I also had some Gatorade just in case they were allergic to the water or vice versa.”
