Las Vegas 2012 Film Festival Closes With Style

The 2012 Las Vegas Film Festival ended in style with actor Louis Gossett Jr. presenting the 2012 Male Indie Icon Awards. Mr. Gossett also answered audience questions in a question and answer session.

The film festival was held at the Las Vegas Hilton Hotel and Casino from July 19 to 22 and is considered Vegas’ premier film event of the year.

Awards included the Grand Jury Award (best film), Best Short Film, Best Foreign Feature, Best Student Short, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Nevada Feature, Best Music Video, Best Television Pilot and much more.

In addition to award presentations, the film festival included screenings of many critically acclaimed indie films. Some of the films screened included Marley Documentary, Avarice, Aftershock (a Chinese film), Sunny (Director’s Cut), Hang Loose, Bang Bang, Fools on the Hill and many more.

A filmmaker’s panel was held offering the festival audience a chance to hear filmmakers discuss what it really takes to get an independent film off the ground. In addition, a producer’s panel was held. This interesting panel went over what it takes to become a successful producer with the focus on assembling the right team and raising financing. Even screenwriters had their chance to interact with audiences in The Art of Storytelling panel.

The 2012 Las Vegas Film Festival was a successful weekend and the festival organizers are already preparing for next summer’s festival!
