Rockowitz Wins the 2012 iPops Main Event and Collects $100,000

Jesse Rockowitz, the American professional poker play has won the 2012 iPops Main Event and took home $100,000. This year the Main Event was held in Barcelona and was a continuation of the $500,000 guaranteed iPops Event #5 which began at the beginning of last month.

When the online tournament was reduced to 27 players, the play was stopped and players were flown to Barcelona to the Grand Casino for a live final. Nine of the finalists were William Hill professional players however, only two remained at the final table, Jesse Rockowitz and Willem Müller-Hofstede. Rockowitz was easily the most prominent player left with a WSOP Bracelet and over $1 million in live tournament winnings to his name.

Müller-Hofstede was knocked out in fourth place and took $30,000 home for his efforts. The event was streamed live on William Hill’s websites with loads of poker fans tuning in to watch the final table. The final hand was fascinating as Rockowitz’s pocket threes held up against his opponent’s pocket twos to take the title.

Rockowitz will now be heading to the 2012 World Series of Poker where he’ll be hoping ot continue his good run.

Rory Cartwright, William Hill’s Poker Manager said that the large presence of William Hill players clearly showed that “our players are the most successful on the network.”  He went on to say that it was great to see Rockowitz take the title and that they wish him well in Vegas.
