EasyCruise to feature Online Casino Gaming
Following news of Virgin Gaming’s plans to introduce online casino gaming to Virgin planes and trains comes news that the owner of EasyJet intends to follow suite. Stelios Haji-Ioannou, founder of the low-cost airline, has announced that he may introduce online casino poker to his EasyCruise shipping venture. The online casino initiative is intended to cut costs during the ship’s Atlantic crossing to the Caribbean.
The low-budget cruise shipping line was recently launched in America, and online casino gaming was immediately touted as increasing the allure of sea travel, along with lowering the costs of the ship’s trans-atlantic crossing. During the European summer, EasyCruise ships travel the French and Italian rivieras and according to Stelios Haji-Ioannou, online casino gaming and cruising the ocean go hand in hand. The EasyJet owner is reportedly in talks with an online casino poker company in order to establish gaming facilities onboard his flagship EasyCruise One.
Similarly, competing budget airline Ryan Air is planning facilities to allow its passengers to participate in online casino gaming during flights. The announcement was made by the airline’s chief executive Michael O’Leary, who stated that Ryanair hopes to introduce in-flight online casino gambling and computer games on its planes by 2007.
