Italy Prepares To Grant More Online Gaming Licenses
There is good news for gamblers in Italy as the country is reportedly preparing to start accepting applications for online casino licenses as it looks to expand its online casino market.
In 2016 the Italian government decided to award 120 new gaming licenses to operators and it seems that the time to apply is coming soon. There is still limited information about how the process will work but some reports suggest that applications may open as early as this week. Operators will be given two months to prepare applications and if they are granted one, it will cost them €200 million.
Italian online gambling has been on the rise in recent years and last year generated just over €1 billion in revenues. After the 120 licenses have been granted it is likely that figure will rise considerably.
