Google Allows Real Money Gambling Apps in Play Store

There is good news for owners of Android devices as Google has agreed to let developers put real money gambling apps on its Play Store.

As of last week the store officially supported gambling apps allowing a number of online casinos, such as Gala Casino, to launch new apps and bring their games to more players. The Play Store has carried gambling apps in the past but a Google spokesperson said that they were not permitted.

There are strict requirements for the gambling apps. At present they are only available in the UK, Ireland and France and must fulfil a number of criteria. Developers have to go through an application procedure where they demonstrate that they comply with all applicable laws. They must also be licensed and have a number of security measures. Furthermore, the apps must be free to download and install.
