Golden Gate Casino Set for Major Expansion
The Golden Gate hotel-casino in Las Vegas is set to reveal a major expansion in late August that will nearly double the casino’s size.
The casino is Las Vegas’ oldest and it was a frequent watering hole for the Rat Pack members Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr. and Dean Martin. It was also home to Vegas’ first telephone. The renovations will double the size of the casino and make space for almost 100 new slots. There will be a 360-degree, 24-foot tall tower of televisions and a multi-faceted crystal chandelier.
The casino’s One Bar will also be renovated and expand a further 20 feet to become one of the longest in downtown Las Vegas. There will also be a new entry to the casino on Fremont Street that will be designed to include velvet drapes, gold medallions, and marble flooring.
