Four EU Countries Agree To Online Poker Pooling
Online poker players in France, Italy, Spain and Portugal are set to benefit from an agreement signed last week that will bring down digital borders and allow player pooling.
The agreement comes after years of discussions but now all four countries can share their player pools. As a result, players can look forward to bigger tournament prize pools and greater options for players. This in turn is likely to lead to a larger number of participants. France took the initiative and began working on pooling liquidity as early as 2012.
Implementing the new system is likely to take some time and it won’t lead to an immediate turn around in online poker trends. However, it is a positive step forwards and it is likely to be closely watched by US online gambling jurisdictions that are considering forming similar agreements.
