New Figures Show Mobile Gambling Continues to Rise

New figures just released by Juniper Research show that $550 billion was bet online last year and the market is set to double in size by 2021.
The majority of the gambling took place in Europe and online gambling sites won about 10% of the bets. Furthermore, the numbers show that about 70% of online gambling revenue now comes from smartphones or other mobile devices. It is expected that by 2020 about 70% of the world will have a smartphone so this number is set to rise. A few years ago research in the UK showed that nearly 5% of all smartphone users had downloaded some kind of betting app.
Furthermore, some of the biggest growth is expected to come from virtual reality play which is expect to grow by 800% to $520 million by 2021.
