Online Gambling to Be Worth $1 Trillion by 2021

A report released last week by the researcher Juniper suggests that online gambling is expected to increase massively across the world over the coming years.

This year the industry is worth around $550 billion but it is thought that by 2021 it will be worth $950 billion per year. By that point betting will approach the same level as total spending on all digital goods and services which are expected to hit $1 trillion in 2021.

Gambling has been steadily moving to online outlets as the popularity of mobile gambling continues to rise and more and more gamblers are switching to online versions of casino favourites. Furthermore, while the practise is still banned by some governments, overall more and more countries are providing legislation to cover online gambling and open it up to their populations.
