Work Finally Set to Begin on Massachusetts MGM Casino

After a year full of delays and setbacks serious work is finally set to begin on the Springfield, Massachusetts, MGM Casino resort.

Following the ground-breaking ceremony last year the project was delayed by a lengthy review carried out by historic preservation authorities. However, at last preparations are underway for the major new site which will occupy 14.5 acres. So far 700 construction workers have been employed and it is expected that at least another 1,300 will be employed in the near future.

The casino is now scheduled to open in September 2018, one year later that originally forecast. At the same time Wynn Resorts is hoping to open a $1.7 billion Boston area resort in late 2018 and the Mashpee Wampanoag tribe said that it will be breaking ground on a resort near Cape Cod which could open next year.
